The Fall season feels like a reset. It’s a time to reflect on our habits, start new routines, and refresh our wardrobes. It’s also the perfect time to start a journey toward sustainability. That’s why we’ve partnered with influential advocates to help shoppers take small steps and start somewhere.
Research shows that consumers want to shop responsibly and sustainably, but they don’t know exactly how to do that. OEKO-TEX® is a solution. Our labels help consumers make safer and more sustainable decisions as they shop. OEKO-TEX® tests for harmful substances and certifies sustainable manufacturing practices to ensure products are safe for human health and the environment.
For nearly three decades, OEKO-TEX® has stood for transparency along the textile and leather production chains, consumer protection and the guarantee of greater safety and confidence for all those involved. The main difference and added value compared to other product labels is the transparency for the consumer. The product ID or a QR code on a OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN label means shoppers can trace the manufacturing process, gathering information about which production plants produced the textile, where the production took place, and more.
OEKO-TEX® has seen an uptick in certifications focused on transparency and traceability over the past year, which reflects the growing importance of this topic across the industry and among consumers. Over 21,000 manufacturers, brands and retailers formally work with OEKO-TEX® in more than 100 countries. The number of labels and certificates issued rose from 24,205 to 31,696 between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021.
This Fall, join us in the journey toward sustainability. We all have a role to play. Looking for the OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN label can get you started.
